Harmony of the Seas – Once the Biggest Ship in the World!!!

Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the seas was once the biggest ship in the world! (The title now goes to its sister the Symphony of the Seas). We had the privilege of sailing on the Harmony from the Barcelona, Spain on one of the ship’s first summer cruises. The cruise ship itself is AMAZING and you can make a destination out of this Oasis class ship in of itself.

Harmony of the Seas itinerary

The port destinations are full of culture and there is so much to see and do! I highly suggest a Mediterranean cruise if it is your first time traveling in the area to get a better feel for which country you would like to travel to next. We liked it area for a unique reason. Our ports of call were:

  • Barcelona, Spain (Don’t miss the Gaudi work throughout the city.)
  • Palma de Mallorca, Spain (A bicycle tour is a great way to explore the city.)
  • Marseille, France: Click here for Marseille cruise excursions.
  • Florence (La Spezia), Italy (We saw the Leaning Tower of Pisa AND buzzed through Cinque Terre all in one busy day!)
  • Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy (We toured the Vatican and the city of Rome via tour.)
  • Naples, Italy: Click here to read what to do in Naples.

This ship is very similar to the other Oasis class ships. But Royal Caribbean has went above and beyond with this ship! There are water slides called the Perfect Storm slides, and for the kids, Splashaway Bay! It has a 10 story slide on the back of the boat called the Ultimate Abyss. You can check out our youtube video of the slide down!

Watch our slide down the Ultimate Abyss!

The Bionic Bar was fun to watch. Definitely the coolest way to get a drink on the ship! Or, you can take a ride on the Rising Tide Bar. The ship also features a kids program, 2 surf simulators, arcades, zip line, basketball court, ice skating rink, 3D movie theater, putt putt golf, 4 pools (including an adults only one in the Solarium), carousel, and SO many activities, shows, and things to do!!!! I’m telling you…the ship itself is a destination!!!
