The recommended time to swim with the manatees is mid-November to April when it’s cold. That’s when they come up to the these areas and you will see them group up in the warmer waters of the springs. I am not sure if you will see them in May…there may be a few left…we wore the wetsuits because we didn’t swim in the spring area.

I noticed you wearing wet suits to swim. What time of year did you visit? Do you think wetsuits would be needed in May?

I really like the Best Western for the free breakfast and proximity. The other area hotels are good, too. But that one has been my favorite! I cannot provide any info for home to rent… 🙁

Been looking at homes to rent since we are traveling in a large group. Would love to be as close as possible to the Springs.
