In reply to Gene Repsher. It's around a 9 hour drive but I really like Philly! There are plenty of hotels in Cincinnati- I feel like most hotels are more expensive these days post covid. According to their website- unopened plastic bottles of water are allowed.

I apologize, my wife told me we are flying LAX to Cincinnati, OH instead of Cleveland, OH.

Thank you for your valuable information, we live in Tahiti and are hoping to visit late August. Our 82 year old aunt will be with us, she still walks, but the info about the wheelchairs is much appreciated. May I assume bottled water can be purchased inside the Ark?
Also, how far is it from Cleveland to the Ark Encounter, I’m also assuming the hotels in Cleveland will be less expensive, we’re natives, …we live in a grass shack, so luxury is not necessary! LOL
I’m originally from California, I’ve driven Route 66 from LA to Chicago and back, so driving is not a problem for me.
Knowing that, we’re considering visiting Philly, is it too far to drive, or would it be better to take a plane?

In reply to Connie Thomas. There is a lot of walking/exploring but I don't think it is a mile inside the ark itself despite the multiple floors accessible via ramps/elevators. It is wheelchair accessible.

In reply to julie. No food/drinks are allowed in the Ark Encounter. We were shuttled in so it would be inconvenient to bring a picnic lunch, but I think it would be allowable to go to your vehicle and return.
