We stayed at the Castle Inn several times during our younger years. We enjoyed it very much. The rooms were nice and we liked the balconies. It is, as you say, an older building. Major problem was no elevators, just stairs. Temporary parking to unload and load in front but it’s a particularly long flight of stairs from the parking lot in back if you want to go exploring in your car.

My only problem with Helen is it isn’t very handicapped friendly.

Hi! I love that you are visiting. I’m not quite sure if it is pet friendly. Honestly, I don’t think the stores are. But, I know some of the hiking trails and hotels do allow pets. I advise checking with their tourism board for more specific information: http://www.helenga.org/contact Have fun!
