Travel Bucket List 2024

It’s a not only a new year, it’s the start of a new decade! Are you looking for travel bucket list ideas for 2024? I’ve put together a list of some of my ideas to get this year off to a great start.

Adventure Tours

From sky diving to scuba diving, there’s so many adventures you can add to your travel bucket list itinerary. This year step out of your comfort zone and do something you normally wouldn’t do. Go parasailing, on an African safari, take a hot air balloon ride, or eat that random chocolate bug that you wouldn’t normally try. Each of these adventures offers a unique blend of excitement, cultural immersion, and natural beauty, making them ideal for any adventure-seeker’s bucket list.

Sky Diving

Go on a cruise.

Cruising is one of our favorite ways to vacation. There’s just nothing better than waking up in a new country without having to pack a bag. We love the all inclusiveness of the food, activities, and transportation. If you have never been on a cruise, then this is the year to do it! (I can also book you a great cruise vacation.)

Go on a solo trip.

I can’t stress the importance of going on a solo trip enough! There’s something about getting out alone and exploring a destination. I have found that solo travel ends up being the most adventurous because I meet more people and do more activities that I want to do. Make this the year you do something for YOU and be a lone traveller by choice.

Explore a National Park.

The national parks are set aside set aside as protected lands for us and future generations to be able to explore. Many of my vacations in the US revolve around the nation’s parks as they have so many picturesque views and the best hikes. Some of my favorite parks are Yosemite, Yellowstone, and Denali National Park.

Glacier National Park

Explore your city or state.

Make this year the year you explore your state more. There are so many destinations close to home left unexplored. Visitors come to your state for holiday so put yourself in their shoes.

Visit a place you have never been to.

Why not visit a place you have never heard of? You could make this a family affair by each person spinning the globe and putting their finger on a destination. Write that destination on piece of paper and one person will randomly draw the chosen place you will travel to.

Watch the aurora.

Watching the aurora will quickly become one of the most addicting things you will ever do. My trip to Alaska to watch the aurora was one of my favorite trips! I chose Fairbanks to watch the Northern Lights dance and had the time of my life. After the addiction started, I also saw the Northern Lights in a glass igloo in Lapland. You will quickly want to travel to other destinations to want to see them (I want to go to Iceland now!).

You can also see the Southern Lights, which is just like the Northern Lights, but is seen in the Southern Hemisphere towards Antartica and Australia.

Visit one of the New Wonders of the World.

One of my goals is to visit all the New Wonders of the World. It’s crazy to think what the people had to go through to build the massive sites. If you can’t make it this year, make it your goal this decade to visit one of the World Wonders!

Plan a road trip.

It doesn’t matter if you go solo or with a group of friends, just go on a road trip. Highway 1 down the California coast is one of my favorite road trips. Maybe you want to take an international road trip, or a shorter road trip such as hitting up the bourbon trail I recently found in Bardstown, Kentucky (most beautiful small town in America and bourbon capital of the world!). Road trips with the radio, wind in your hair, and some coca cola are always a good time! 🙂

Chichen Itza

Try a cooking class.

This is the year that you should learn how to make a new meal. Check Groupon for discounts in big cities near you for cooking classes. Viator also has tours and trips that has a great cancellation policy if necessary. We attended a fun chocolate class in Nashville on how to make our own Goo Goo and brownie that was fun. Learning how to make a new food is a great date night or fun night with friends.

Go glamping.

Glamping is the new form of glamorous camping and you HAVE to try it out this year. My friends from Honeytrek are the experts on it as they have explored North America looking for the best and unique glamping spots for their book Comfortably Wild available for purchase on Amazon. I personally have this book and will be exploring many of these destinations!

@tattlingtourist I loved this #glamping stay in North Carolina that literally had it all with the kindest owner. #weekendtrip #uniquefinds #solotrip ♬ River Flows in You - Yiruma

Go on a train tour.

Train tours offer a unique and exciting way to explore some of the world’s most beautiful landscapes and iconic destinations. These tours provide a comfortable and leisurely experience, allowing passengers to sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenery as it unfolds before their eyes. With the added advantage of onboard amenities and services, such as dining cars and luxurious sleeping accommodations, train tours provide a level of comfort and convenience that makes the journey just as enjoyable as the destination. Whether you are a seasoned traveler or someone looking for an offbeat adventure, train tours offer an unforgettable travel experience.

There are many tours to check out on Viator that may interest you as well.
